Re: Upcoming EQAO Assessment 2025–2026 for Grade 10 Students

**Students are reminded to bring their fully charged Chromebook to the practice test and both test sessions.

The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) measures whether students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of Grade 9. This year, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) will be offering the computer based online OSSLT to eligible students across the province. Successful completion of this literacy test is one of the requirements to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

During the mornings of March 31, 2026 and April 1st, 2026, our Grade 10 students as well as students (Grade 11 and Grade 12) who have not completed the test previously, will be taking part in the OSSLT.

Students will complete the assessment in two sessions. Additional time can be provided for any students who require it. After completing each session, students will be presented with a questionnaire that asks them about their experiences, attitudes, and perceptions with respect to literacy.

An Individual Student Report with results will be generated once the open-response questions have been scored.

Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with the online test platform by writing the EQAO’s online practice test. All Grade 10 students will take the practice test the morning of March 3, 2026

Headphones (wired only) will be allowed during the test to assist with reading components. Please ensure your child has Chromebook-compatible, wired headphones on test days. For more information about EQAO and to view the full practice test, you are encouraged to visit EQAO’s website www.eqao.com
